Assalamun alaikum brother Salem and netters

Salem has written thus:
I am not doing unjust to you as you claimed, the others have written traditions, but you have not mention this tradition, in this case if you feel like I purposely only targeting you, then I would like to inform you that I will not ask you again, but I will remind people may not take these things as true, wa assalam

On Tue Mar 3 21:41:57 1998 I replied him this:
When did I lie, everything I explained I gave list of books and even to which chapters and the pages. On the top of that, he said that I have not fully explained.

Then he wrote :

But he still persist to say the same words :
”then I request you the fourth times, write that tradition, is that real big issue?”

And again another time he wrote:
”BROTHER MOHAMMED, MY QUESTION I WANT YOU TO WRITE TO US THIS TRADITION YOU MENTIONED ABOVE and something important I want especially to know total or this paragraph: He left us two great things book of Allah and his Ahlel Bait”

Shaikh Salem was asking each time that he wanted me to explain the tradition of Thaqalain fully, I thought that I have fully explained, maybe he meant that I should provide numerous narrations of this tradition. This I see hard to bring here in this forum, because people here are not in favour to read anything deeply. This can make it boring instead of exciting. Even though, I decided to bring a limited amount of traditions, around seven, if Shaikh Salem requires more, there is a book with two volumes. In this book, there are collections of all traditions regarding Thaqalain through 25 companions. Right now I do not remember the name of the book; if Salem wants I will find it for him.

Mashaallah, ahle Sunnah, have many traditions books for examples Six models of Sahih, Musnad of Imam Hanbal, Kanzul Kamil, Tarikh Baghdad, Tirmizi, Tafsir Tabari, Abu Daud, Sha'abi, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Shara-e-Aqaida, Yanabee ul -mawadat, Tafsir Qurtubi, Tafsir Razi, Addurrul Manthur, Nurul Absar Mustadarak of Imam Hakim and others.

In fact reading all of these books requires a great deal of time, and like us who we are at work from morning till evening is not easy. Then come home, today we want to visit relatives, or go somewhere or playing with children or go into the Internet. You'll find that no sufficient times available to read. I am a reader but I have many books waiting for me to read, till now I do not have enough time. We might have some or several traditions books but not necessary to have all of them. Therefore, this work of reading these traditions books of course is the work of religious scholar, we mostly can do is to extract and take references, and if we can get time it is better to read them.

Previously I mentioned before that my knowledge is little and is limited but I will attempt to my best ability. For this reason you will find mostly I extract from books the religious scholars wrote regarding one tradition from different sources. Further, we will confirm regarding the mentioned tradition to be available from those mention sources before we started to doubt. For example, that 2 volumes books that collected all Thaqalain tradition from different books of Ahlel Sunnah.

Now I will start bringing Thaqalain tradition.

1) Reported from the companion Zaid bin Arqam:

the Prophet (s.a.w) said:
"I leave among you two heavy that if you are connected with them, you will never go astray after me, Quran and Ahlul Bait, these two shall never part from each other until they come to me at the Pool (Haudh)."

Refer Sahih Muslim chapter-4 page 1873; Sahih Tirmidhi chapter 2 page 308; Tafsir Ibni Kathir chapter 4 page 122; Tarikh Baghdad chapter 8 page 442, Kanzu al- Ummal chapter 1 page 44 and other.

2) "I have left among you certain things and if you will love them you will never go astray. They are the Book of Allah, which is like a rope extending from the heaven to the earth, and my children, that is my Ahl el-Bait. These two shall never part from each other until they come to me at the Pool of Kawthar (in Paradise). So, take care how you treat them.

Tradition no. 874 in Sahih al-Tirmidhi, as related by Zayed ibn al Arqam among the tradition taken from Kanz al-Ummal, pt 1, p. 44.

3) "I leave among you two Weight Things, the Book of Allah and my Ahl al-Bay; and these two shall never separate from each other until they come to me at the Pool."

According to Imam Ahmad (ibn al-Hanbal) from two authentic sources, viz. In his Musnad, vol 5. P. 182, and vol 5, p189 at the end. Also according to Al-Tabrani in his Mu'jam al-Kabir from Zayed ibn Thabit and in Kanz al-Ummal, vol 1, p. 44. Also according to Al-Hakim in his Mustadarak, pt.3, p. 148, with the comment that this tradition is authentic according to tests followed by the two Shaykhs (i.e., Muslim and Bukhari) though they have not included it in their collections. Dhahabi has included it in his selections from  Mustadarak due to its authenticity according to the tests followed by the two Shaykhs.

4) "I will soon be called away and will have to depart from you, but I leave among you Two Weighty Things, the Book of the High and Mighty Allah and my descendants. The Book of Allah is like a rope which extends from the heavens to the earth, and my descendants are the people of my house (my Ahl el-Bayt). The Subtle and Aware until they come to me at the Pool. So take care how you treat them after me."

Recorded by Imam Ahmad (ibn al-Hanbal) from the tradition related by Abu Said al-Khudri in two ways, in his Musnad, pt 3, firstly at the end of p. 17 and secondly at the end of p. 26. Also recorded by Ibn Abi Shaybah, Abu Ya'li and Ibn al-Sad from Abu Said, being Tradition no. 945 in Kanz al-Ummal, pt. 1, p. 47.

5) When the Holy Prophet was returning (to Medina) from the Farewell Pilgrimage and arrived at Ghadir Khum he stopped there and said: "It seems as if I have been summoned and I am going away. However, I am leaving among you Two Weighty Things, one of which is greater than the other. They are the Book of Allah the Almighty and my children. So take care how you treat them after me. The two shall never part company until they come to me at the Pool."He continued: "The Lord, Allah, the Almighty, is my Master and I am the masters of every true believer." Then he took the hand of Ali in his hand and said: "He is the master of all those whose master I have been. O Allah, love those who love Ali and hate those who hate him…"

Related by Al-Hakim from Zayd ibn al-Arqam in pt. 3, p. 109 of his Mustadrak, with the comment that this tradition is authentic according to tests approved by the two Shaykhs, although they have not recorded it in full. It has also been related through another source from Zayd ibn al-Arqam and recorded in pt. 3, p. 533 of Mustadrak, with the comment that it is authentic, although the two Shaykhs have not recorded it. Dhahabi has also recorded in his Talkh his as authentic.

6) Abdullah ibn Hantab related that the Messenger of Allah addressed us at Juhfah saying: "Do I not have authority over you more than yourselves?" They all said, "Yes, of course." Then he said: "I shall hold you answerable for two things, namely, the Book of Allah and my  descendants."

Al-Tabrani has recorded this tradition as mentioned by Allamah al-Nabahani in his Arbain al-Arbain and Allamah al-Suyuti in his Ihya al-Mayyit. You are probably not aware of the fact that the address given by the Holy Prophet on this occasion did not end here, because an address is a lengthy speech, but political considerations prevent most of the recorders of traditions from giving a full account of the address. Even so, this brief excerpt is enough for our purpose.

7) Finally, as he lay deathbed and the room was packed with his disciples, he said:"O you folk! I am soon going to depart from here, and although I have already told you, I repeat once more that I am leaving with you two things, namely, the Book of Allah and my descendants, that is, my Ahle al-Bayt." Then he lifted up Ali by the hand and said: "Behold, this is Ali: he is with the Quran and the Quran is with him. They shall never part from each other until they come to me at the Pool of Kawthat."

Sawaiqa al-Muhriqah by Allamah ibn Hajar, the last few lines of chapter 9, subheading 2.

A large group of distinguished persons belonging to the major section of the Muslims has acknowledged this as the Holy Prophet's last will and testament. Even Ibn Hajar, after recording the Hadith al-Thaqalayn (the tradition of the Two Weighty Things), comments on it by saying: "The Tradition of Adherence has been handed down through a large number of sources and more than twenty of the disciples have related it."

In the Holy Prophet's saying: "I leave among you two things; if you will adhere to both of them you will never go astray; and they are, the Book of Allah and my descendants," the requirement of adherence to both of them should be particularly noted. It plainly shows that whoever adheres to or adopts both of them as his guides will be saved from going astray. Therefore, if a person takes only one of them without taking the other for a guide he may go astray. This point becomes still clearer by considering Tabrani's version, which contains the further injunction:

"Look out! And do not either go ahead of them or lag behind them, for in either case you will be destroyed; and do not (try to) teach them for they know more than you."

Some of those Ahlel Bait who got opportunities to educate the Muslim Umma were able to show Muslim Umma how knowledgeable they were without ever being taught by any human being. Read Nahjul Balgha the knowledge of Imam Ali and then you would understand why the Prophet (saw) said:

"I am the knowledge of the city and Ali is its gate"

Dig and read history to discover how groups after groups were pouring toward Ahlel Bait to study and gain their knowledge. People benefit from the knowledge of Ahlel Bait from some of them such as Imam Ali bin Hussain (as), Imam Muhammed bin Ali (as) and Imam Jaafar bin Muhammad (as). Especially, the golden opportunity occurred during the end of Bani Ummaya and the beginning of Abbasid period for the Muslim Umma to seek knowledge from them, where they got temporary relief from these tyrants. During that time more than four thousand people attended and study under Imam Jaafar bin Muhammad (as). Two most prominent Sunni Imams, Imam Abu Hanifa and Imam Malik were the students of Imam Jaafar bin Muhammad (as). In addition, Imam Shafii and Imam Hanbali have studied from the students who studied from Imam Jaafar (as).

You'll quite clearly observe how Prophet Muhammad (saw) emphasized the tradition of Thaqalain. The reason he has underlined and regularly kept on repeating this tradition so that it can penetrate to his followers mind deeply. However, there is another tradition which is widely publicised, published and distributed. The tradition is changed from Quran and Ahlul Bait to Quran and Sunnah (tradition). Who does not want to follow the true Sunnah (tradition) of the Prophet (saw), everyone is swift to follow the true Sunnah (tradition) as explained in the Holy Quran 3:32, 3:132.

Unfortunately we Muslims do not united  together to agree and accepting in something called Sunnah (tradition). Everyone claim to follow their own true Sunnah (tradition) of the Prophet (saw) while they differ on same issue. We will observe others are praying, closing their hands while other do not agree with them, some lifting their arms while doing Takbril Ihram in prayer while other do not lift their arms, others will read Bismillah others do not read it, others believe Allah to have a body like man others will resist this belief, others will give 3 divorces (Talaq) in one session while other do not agree and believe it to be impossible, others will recite 'Haya Ala Khairil Amal 'in Azan and Iqamah and others are not reciting it. Fellow Muslim is this is the Sunnah (tradition) of the Prophet (saw) which is contradicting each other, left with us and if we follow that we shall not go astray?! Hashalilah, never can it be, here you can observe how this tradition loose its weight and get lighter. On the other hand, the tradition of Quran and Ahlul Bait become heavier, because Ahlul Bait are the safeguard of the tradition (sunnah) of the Prophet (saw).

First we have explained from the beginning of this (traditon) hadith Quran and Ahlul Bait is MUTAWATIR.

Secondly, let us look what would happen to the Muslims after the death of the Prophet (saw). Let us look at the replied Sheikh Salem gave to a second question of Yahya Al-Kindi and provided hadith unfortunately he did not give the complete hadith. He gave a partial hadith according to his belief but the remaining and important piece information he did not delivered, he replied this

It is translated as:
The Jews were divided and split into 71 groups; The Christians were divided and split into 72 groups; my Umma will be divided and split into 73 groups, out of these 72 groups will enter into hell and one group will enter paradise. He was asked which group? He said the remaining will follow me and my companion.

The one which he refused to explain and left out was as below :

The Prophet said, "You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure (lizard), you would follow them." We said, "O Allah's Apostle! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?" He said, "Whom else?"

This tradition is also narrated by Muslim in his Sahih , v8, p57. It is also narrated in Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, v3, pp 84, 94.

Similar I articulate this one before on Sun Mar 1 12:13:43 1998 and wrote as below:

So here clearly identify the grade of Imam as per Allah desire is the highest grade. Prophet Ibrahim (as) gain this position only after he went through a test. Glimpse of history before the advent of Prophet Muhammad (saw) indicate to us how those previous nations managed to slap and damage the messages of those previous prophets and messengers. One wonder could the nation (ummah) of Prophet Muhammad (saw) be inflicted the same damage in the same way? Look around and see how ummah of Islam are divided, this is the sign of the slap, strike and damage the message of Islam received. Similar all Muslims aware that all previous prophets and messenger were sent to a certain people or tribe except our last prophet (saw) who came to the whole world at large. Therefore his message should be a complete one cover against all aspect of life with high importance against all other previous prophets and messengers. For this reason you will find that prophet Ibrahim (as) wanted to attain this high grade of Imam for his offspring as per Allah desire not as per human desire. In order to safeguard this last and important message of our last prophet (saw) against all infiltration and corruption, Allah desire that Imam should only be chosen by Him not by people. The vicegerents of the Prophet (saw) are the true Imams who safeguard and protected this last message of prophet (saw) against all hurricanes, corruptions and infiltrations. These vicegerents of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) do not deserve to gain such high grade of Imam in order to safeguard and protected this last message of prophet (saw) against all hurricanes, corruptions and infiltrations?

Definitely this will lead to believe that the tradition (hadith) to follow Quran and Ahlel Bait are genuine, authentic and true word of the Holy Prophet, because both Quran and Sunnah require human being to protect against all hurricanes, corruptions and infiltrations and these being are none than these Imam of Ahlel Bait who have direct knowledge from Allah and was not taught by any human being. They are the one who safeguard Quran and true Sunnah (traditions) of the Prophet (saw).

Therefore the Holy Prophet (s.a.w) said this:

"Behold! My Ahl al-Bayt are like the Ark of Noah; whoever embarked in it was saved, and whoever turned away from it was destroyed. " Mustadarak of Imam Hakim, vol 3 page 151, received from Abu Dharr. Mustadrak of Imam Hakim vol. II page343,  Tibrani in Ausata (the 18 of the forty tradition), Sawaiqa al-Muhriqah by Allamah ibn Hajar page151, Shablanji katika Nurul Absar and other.

Before I conclude today I would like to answer brother Salem when he said his Imam of his age is the Prophet (saw). It amaze me how he become his Imam of his age, when he believe and accept that after the death of prophet Muhammad (saw) there was a requirement of Imam of that age. Yes, thus how he wrote :

"But now I think I should better explain more what I mean, imam there are many types, the first imam is AL IMAM AL Akbar and that is  PROPHET [pbuh] who is important imam for all believer in the religion and world affairs and their imam after qiyama, the second type is like IMAM ABUBAKAR ,OMAR,OTHMAN and ALI{R.A.A] who were imams of believers in religion and world affairs, "

If you say on every age is the Prophet (saw) is Imam then there are no requirement for any Imam or Khalifa.

Inshallah we will continue over about this subject Thaqalain soon, how Quran and Ahlel Bayt are attached together, by today I say

Al hamdulillahi Rabil Alamin.

Mohammed Yusuf

Narrated Aisha:
One day the Prophet (PBUH&HF) came out afternoon wearing a black cloak (upper garment or gown; long coat), then al-Hasan Ibn Ali came and the Prophet accommodated him under the cloak, then al-Husain came and entered the cloak, then Fatimah came and the Prophet entered her under the cloak, then Ali came and the Prophet entered him to the cloak as well. Then the Prophet recited: "Verily Allah intends to keep off from you every kind of uncleanness O' People of the House (Ahlul-Bayt), and purify you a perfect purification (the last sentence of Verse 33:33)."

In addition to what the Prophet (saw) said who are the real “Ahlul Bait”, he made the habit for six or nine months, every day after morning prayer he would passed by by the door of Fatima's house and address them with greeting as these are "MY AHLEL BAIT" and recite this verse of tat-hir 33.
